A guide to Oak Hill from Newton Community Farm's Farmer Greg

Greg Maslowe (aka "Farmer Greg") has lived in Oak Hill with his family for 14 years. He is the resident farmer at Newton Community Farm.

Greg enjoys all the natural beauty of Oak Hill Village, especially Nahanton Park. It's a great place to walk your dog, visit the community gardens, and rent a canoe or kayak to go out on the Charles River. Also, sometimes the city offers classes at the building located in the park.

Oak Hill offers great public schools (Memorial Spaulding, Oak Hill, Brown, and Newton South High School).

This year the Newton Farmers' Market, which Newton Community Farm participates in, moved to Newton South High School on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This high school has also been the site of a terrific craft fair in December in past years.

Interesting Tip: Oak Hill Park was a planned community specifically built to offer affordable houses to returning World War II veterans. The streets in Oak Hill Park are named after Newton servicemen who died in World War II.

Favorite thing about your village: Newton Community Farm, the last working farm in Newton!
